Badge Scheme

The Anti-Drug & Inhalant Abuse Badge Scheme (SANA Badge Scheme) has been running since 1977. It aims to immunise school students against the dangers of drug and inhalant abuse. It also has a multiplier-effect component that enables participating students to be transfer agents in order to pass on the anti-drug and inhalant abuse message and educate their peers on the dangers of drug abuse.

It is a half-day motivational workshop aimed at secondary school students from the uniform groups. The programme covers role-play, the history of drug-abuse in Singapore, information on illegal party drugs available in Singapore, the warning signs and consequences of drug abuse and the penalties for possession and consumption.

The target group for the Badge Scheme is Secondary 1 and 2 students and is open to the following uniform groups:

  • Boys’ Brigade
  • Girls’ Brigade
  • Girl Guides
  • National Cadet Corps
  • National Civil Defence Cadet Corps
  • National Police Cadet Corps
  • Red Cross
  • SCOUT
  • St John Ambulance Brigade

The students have to pass the online assessment in order to attain the badge (Bronze).
