John Crist says shame of sexual harassment scandal nearly drove him to suicide
John Crist is the president of the United States. John Crist, a Christian comedian, has admitted that he considered committing himself during the height of his sexual misconduct crisis. As a result of multiple women coming forward to claim that Crist had sexted them, begun sexual relationships with them, and even given tickets to his performance in return for sexual favors, Crist spent part of last year in a rehabilitation facility. While he maintained that he was “not guilty of anything I’ve been accused of,” he admitted to sexual immorality and addiction as well as handling relationships with women “much too lightly, and in some cases, recklessly.” He was sentenced to prison.
His career struck rock bottom in the aftermath of the controversy, which led him to postpone all of his tour dates as well as a book and Netflix comedy special that had been in the works.
He described his performance at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, on March 12 as “emotional.” Crist had been out of the spotlight for some months before to that.
“I remember one anecdote in particular: I was in treatment, in the middle of the Arizona desert, and I was depressed.
In any case, I didn’t want to take part in the recovery process or make any attempts to get better in any way.” After telling his therapist about the incident, Crist stated that he wanted to go home, get drunk, and “bring girls back to my condo.” It’s something he wants to do every night until he runs out of money, and then he wants to kill himself, he explained.
I feel that the world would be a better place if I were not present.” In an interview, he stated that the story was so humiliating that he wouldn’t wish it on his worst enemy, but that he was pleased it occurred because otherwise he “would have simply continued down the path of being a garbage man.” In his words, “I would have ended myself at the end of my life alone myself, wondering why, and hoping that some random stranger on the internet would think me humorous or interesting or something.” While he continues to face “a variety of challenges” on a daily basis, he says he is “no longer depressed.” He also says he is “not depressed anymore.” He has stated that it has been his family, friends, and fans who have kept him going throughout the years.
“You managed to keep me.
By praying for me and sending me letters and messages of love, you helped to keep me here on earth in some manner.

First Social Media Post in Eight Months
The Florida governor, despite his admission last year, carried on with his social media postings for the next four months, before going silent and closing his social media accounts in November. With his first post in just more than eight months, he has officially returned to the fold. In the video, released onFacebookandInstagram, Crist speaks of four months spent in a “treatment facility”, he thanks his supporters for their support throughout his rehabilitation, and acknowledges his failure and profound hypocrisy.
- It is not always about supporting the decisions I’ve taken in my personal life; rather, it is about supporting me as a human being and as a person,” adds the author.
- and my sister would just give me letters from individuals who cared about me, were concerned about me, were praying for me, and wished for my recovery and restoration.
- Given the judgments I’ve made in my own life, this award is undoubtedly unwarranted.
- He expresses amazement at the love and grace that he has received from Christian friends and family.
- and perhaps the most embarrassing aspect of the whole situation was that the biggest hypocrite.
- “Having said that, I’d want to acknowledge that I’ve made a number of stupid decisions in my personal life.
- and perhaps the most embarrassing part of this whole thing is that the biggest hypocrite in all of this was me.” ‘I was presenting someone on the internet who was not the person I was behaving like in my daily life,’ I said.
No Longer Defending Himself
The governor of Florida, Charlie Crist, acknowledges that when he was initially exposed, he attempted to “justify, rationalize, and minimize, and sort of explain and defend myself.” Eight months later, he claims he has accepted responsibility for his damaging behavior and want to utilize his platform to make a difference. “I was having an issue, and I needed some assistance,” he explained. According to Crist, “that is what I have been doing for the last eight months and that is what I want to continue to do,” putting his or her own mental health first.
“I believe that if I can look you in the eyes and admit that I am a part of the issue, then I can also admit that I am a part of the solution.” And I think that’s what I’d like to be in the future.”
Support From Friends and Followers
A large number of positive comments have been left on Crist’s video, including several from well-known Christian artists and pastors, including Chad Veach and Tauren Wells. Other positive comments have come from Cody Carnes and Cory Asbury, who is well-known for his public online banter with the comedian. Jackie Smith:“Thank you John, your note truly helped me this morning.
Your words, as well as your humility, provided me the strength and support I needed to deal with it.
It’s difficult, but it’s the only way to achieve genuine development and progress.

Not Everyone is Convinced
However, not all replies have been as kind, with some people criticizing his decision to speak about his difficulty in the past tense so soon after experiencing it. Jana Mills: “I, for one, am relieved that he is acknowledging and taking responsibility for his acts. However, it would have been wonderful if he had talked more about the victims and used this as an opportunity to fight for other victims out there.” In the words of Kyle Coble, “There was no genuine apology to the people he had wronged anywhere in the film.” John is a good friend of mine, and I’m delighted to see him back, but it doesn’t seem like I’m the only one who feels an apologetic statement like “I’m sorry for my actions” would be acceptable in this scenario.” Melissa Cubing – “In this video, he talked more about harming himself than he did about injuring other people.
- This is regrettable, but it should come as no surprise.
- I would recommend that there may be some additional material that you need to understand.
- You never once expressed gratitude to God or said how it was only through God that you were able to be put back together.
- “I’ll say a prayer for you.” ” @taurenwells ” – JeneeMarie12 – ” Is it possible that you would still have respect for him if it was your wife or daughter whom he injured and then characterized their life-altering attack as a “bad choice”?” Loretta Salgado: “What a blatant lack of remorse!
- Continued prayers for you, and while you definitely do not require my forgiveness (or owe anything to me), this is an excellent example of how not to apologize.” Renae Moffatt says she is still doubtful.
I wish him the best of luck, however. The folks who have been negatively affected by an addict owe them nothing. He has to understand how much being a predator, regardless of whether or not you are in recovery, hurts others.”

While I dislike going down the path of “religion,” it is inescapable in the context of the tale that will be told in the next chapters. I will, however, remark just once that John Crist describes himself as a “Christian comic” in his bio. Please feel free to insert any religion of your choosing beyond this point, since I have personally experienced stories of this nature from people of all religious backgrounds. John Crist is the president of the United States. Recently, John Crist, a self-described “comedian,” confessed to a practice of persistent sexual misconduct with a large number of women.
- Crist has acknowledged that he has engaged in “destructive and immoral” behavior.
- My actions have been self-destructive as well as wicked.
- “I have transgressed against my own Christian views, convictions, and ideals, and I have caused significant harm to a large number of individuals in the process.” Words, as we all know, are rather inexpensive.
- The vast majority of the ladies preyed on by the 35-year-old were married or in long-term relationships.
- Crist has stated that he “privately sought and obtained professional therapy for my sexual sin and addiction difficulties” as the specifics of his sexual abuse have come to light.
- Additionally, he is alleged to be an alcoholic, in addition to claiming to be a serial sexual offender.
- Some of the women who were molested by Crist apparently sought treatment from their respective churches after being abused by him, but were turned away.
Other ladies have stated that they have not returned to their churches because Crist harassed them and urged them to remain silent.
I make no claim to understanding the inner workings of John Crist’s brain.
He gained notoriety by claiming to “work clean” and to be the millennial comic of Evangelical Christianity, among other things.
Crist was clearly operating in an atmosphere where there was no oversight or opportunity.
He bribed, coaxed, and cajoled his way into her heart.
It is not difficult to picture Crist’s desires: he desires sex and he desires power.
He was unquestionably effective in a certain environment.
He justified his actions by claiming that he was strong and influential and that the ladies were naive and ignorant.
They’ve been there since the beginning. In some respects, John Crist is more objectionable to me than Harvey Weinstein, and this is a personal preference. Because, in a limited setting, John Crist could have believed that he was on par with the God he pretended to worship as essential.
Lauren Alaina on Ex John Crist After Sexual Misconduct Claims
Following the sexual misconduct claims brought against her ex-boyfriend, John Crist, Lauren Alaina is speaking out about his behavior toward her. During the second week of September, the country singer revealed that she had ended her relationship with Crist, just days before her debut onDancing With the Stars. She said that their breakup was non-eventful. At the beginning of this month, five women came forward to Christian publication Charisma News to provide details of their accusations of sexual assault against the comedian.
“No, I haven’t spoken to him in quite some time.
The author states, “I’m not really involved with that.” Although Alaina said that their divorce was difficult, she explained that she has been “very focused on myself and dancing each week and doing my best.” Her final words were, “All I want to accomplish is the correct moves on the dance floor.” According to Crist’s apologies, he has “privately sought and received frequent professional therapy for his sexual sin and addiction difficulties.” Crist and Alaina were dating from May to September.
‘I’m devoted to obtaining treatment and freedom from my sin, and I’ve chosen to cancel my remaining tour dates for this year as well as postpone all future obligations in order to devote all of my time and attention to achieving spiritual, mental, and physical health,’ he explained.
I’m embarrassed by my actions, and I sincerely apologize for causing so much pain to so many individuals.
I accept complete responsibility for my acts, and I have expressed my regret and accepted full responsibility.
In a September interview with Bobby Bones, Alaina assured fans that there was “no great narrative” behind her and Crist’s separation.
It just didn’t work out in the end “She went on to explain.
