After being surrounded by cameras, booze, and the party scene, Mike’s already-growing addiction was aggravated by being in the public eye.

How Did Mike ‘The Situation’ Help Ronnie Ortiz-Magro Go to Rehab?
One of MTV’s most popular series, Jersey Shore: Family Vacationhas been an unexpected smash, becoming one of the network’s most watched shows. The show follows the lives and fortunes of some of the original Jersey Shore stars five years after the show’s famous run came to an end with the premiere of the fifth season. The roommates are confronted with how their lives have altered, and they do it with wit, sarcasm, and a generous amount of drama. Among those on the show who have experienced the most difficulty is Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, a 33-year-old reality star who has made headlines in the past for his troubled relationship and, more recently, for his trip in rehab.
What problems has Ronnie Ortiz-Magro faced?
While all of the cast members have dealt with their demons in one way or another, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has had a particularly difficult few years in his personal life. Sammi “Sweetheart,” a fellowJersey Shore cast member, and the 33-year-old star began dating Jenn Harley in 2017, following the termination of a long-term, tumultuous relationship with her. Ortiz-Magro and Harley had only been together for a little more than a year when they announced they were expecting a child in late 2017. And it was at that point that Ortiz-Magro truly began to feel the waves of tension and anguish that have been a constant feature of his life for the past many years.
As a result of their social media exchanges (Ortiz-Magro calling out Harley for alleged adultery, and Harley calling out the new father as a “cokehead”), their altercations escalated to the point of violence.
Following a confrontation between Harley and Ortiz-Magro on June 24th, 2018, Harley was arrested for domestic assault and taken into custody.
The current status of the relationship between Ortiz-Magro and Harley appears to be an on-off affair.
What did Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino do to influence Ortiz-Magro’s sobriety?
Ortiz-Magro seems to have come to the conclusion that he needed to improve his position by the end of 2018, and he attended a treatment center with the assistance of his family and friends. He remained in rehab for several months until being discharged in early February of this year. When it came to making the decision to seek treatment for his alcoholism and depression, Ortiz-Magro said that he had difficulty doing so. However, as he explained recently in an interview, he realized that he needed to become clean to provide a better life for his small daughter.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Ortiz-close Magro’s friend and fellow cast member, also had a significant part in the film.
The friendship has progressed to the point that Ortiz-Magro refers to his friend as “The Inspiration,” and he expresses his gratitude for his unwavering presence and support.
What’s next for Ronnie Ortiz-Magro?
Even though Ortiz Magro still has a long road ahead of him, and while maintaining sobriety may be a lifelong effort, he has undoubtedly gotten the support he requires to build a better life for himself and his small daughter. Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and the rest of the Jersey Shore: Family Reunion cast will be reunited for a third season later this year, allowing fans to catch up with their favorite characters (release date still to be determined.)
The Situation of MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ talks drug addiction to Shore recovery groups
- Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino found that modeling underwear wasn’t working for him in 2008, so he responded to a casting call for what would become MTV’s reality television program “Jersey Shore.” During the first season of “Jersey Shore,” Sorrentino was cast as one of the self-proclaimed “guidos” and “guidettes” who lived together in a Seaside Heights rental, pranking and roasting each other while fighting and having a good time, and ultimately becoming the dysfunctional family of unrelated millennials that garnered huge ratings and a worldwide fan base from 2009 to 2012
- The Situation became the focal point of some of the more raunchy scenes in “Jers When filming Season 4 in Italy, he made the mistake of slamming his head against a solid wall, assuming it was drywall. As a result of the act, he was taken to the hospital and left with a particular place in the history of the six-season television series. According to Sorrentino, 36, in a recent phone interview with the Asbury Park Press, he “really pushed the edge on my conduct for a number of years, from season two onwards” from season two to season five. “I was a little crazy, a little thoughtless, a little reckless.” Since he has been clean from drugs and alcohol for about two and a half years, Sorrentino wants to share a new message with the actual Jersey Shore and reality television audiences. The Situation, as it has been reworked, is a component of “Jersey Shore Family Vacation,” MTV’s redux of the blockbuster program that helped to boost the cable channel’s ratings. As the show’s popularity grows, Sorrentino, a Middletown native who attended Brookdale Community College in the Lincroft district of Middletown, is giving speeches on recovery and clean living across the region. He made an appearance with his fiancée, Lauren Pesce, at the New Jersey Recovery Film Festival, which took place at Ocean County College on Saturday. - Otherwise, click here. For Sorrentino, clean living was not a priority during the heyday of “Jersey Shore,” which lasted from 2005 to 2007. RELATED: Mike ‘The Situation’ is a comedian and actor. Sorrentino has announced his engagement to Lauren Pesce. Following the head butt, and around the time the fifth season was coming to a conclusion, MTV officials approached him and asked him to speak with them privately. This is the note Sorrentino recalls receiving: “You need to report back to work as The Situation we know and love from season six, or you won’t be allowed to work.” “And it was something I took extremely seriously.” Sorrentino’s struggle with opiate addiction began while he was in college, he claims. After graduating from Brookdale, he went on to study at Monmouth University and Kean University. “I was completely unaware that I had an obsessive mentality,” Sorrentino said. “And everything I did had to be done to the absolute best of my ability. And I continued along this path for several years. Experimenting, partying, and making poor judgments are all possibilities when you are addicted to a substance since everything is influenced by the drug in your system. You are not eating right, and you are not sleeping correctly. Your connections are being harmed, and you are completely unaware of it.” Sorrentino made public his addiction to prescription medications, which were the opiates that opened the floodgates to the heroin epidemic, around the time of the stroll behind the woodshed with MTV workers in 2012. Sorrentino claims that he has never been a victim of heroin addiction, unlike many others who have been hooked to OxyContin and other prescription medications. According to him, “I had some resources, so I didn’t proceed in that way.” “When people are running low on resources, they tend to head in that way.”
- To cure his addiction to opioids, Sorrentino entered rehab in 2012 and began receiving naltrexone injections once a month, which are a medication-assisted treatment that suppresses the effects of opioids. Season six of “Jersey Shore,” which aired from October 2012 to December 2012, was mostly concerned with Sorrentino’s battles to maintain sobriety and the impact that this had on his other cast members. However, like the majority of persons struggling with opiate addiction, Sorrentino discovered that his first few efforts at sobriety were insufficient. He stated he had a glass of wine to toast his success at keeping clean. He attributes his relapse to this. After being clean for nearly a year, he realized he was doing all of the wrong things since he had done the rehab himself, he explained. “I was unable to secure a sponsor. I didn’t have access to a support network. I did not attend any meetings. I didn’t follow any of the recommendations. I was going to attempt to go about it my way this time. And, as it turns out, I was completely incorrect.” The Situation’s newfound change in life and on “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” occurs at a critical juncture in the story. Sorrentino is scheduled to be sentenced in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in the coming months after pleading guilty earlier this year to one count of tax evasion. In 2014, Sorrentino and his brother Marc were accused with submitting fictitious tax returns on $8.9 million in income, which they denied. JERSEY SHORE actor Michael Sorrentino has entered a guilty plea to a federal tax charge. RELATED: Sorrentino faces a maximum sentence of five years in jail, but his attorney, Henry Klingeman, believes his client will be able to escape prison. “As Klingeman explained to reporters in January, “a person who enters into this sort of plea arrangement is often not sentenced to prison.” “We’re hoping Mike isn’t an exception to the rule here.” Mike ‘The Situation’ DiMasi of ‘Jersey Shore’ Sorrentino acknowledges that he engaged in tax evasion. Mike ‘The Situation,’ a cast member of MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore,’ has died. Sorrentino entered a guilty plea to one count of tax evasion in Federal Court in Newark, New Jersey. Sorrentino faces a maximum sentence of five years in jail and a restitution payment of $123,000, among other penalties. THOMAS P. COSTELLO & ASSOCIATES, INC. His brother entered a guilty plea to one count of assisting in the preparation of fraudulent tax returns for the years 2010, 2011 and 2012. He might face a sentence of up to three years in jail. It is expected that both men will be sentenced on Aug. 15. Other than to state that “Obviously I have something coming up,” Sorrentino would not elaborate on his legal difficulties, save to add that “it will be handled and we’re confident about it.” He is speaking to recovery groups in Ocean County on behalf of Discovery Institute, a nonprofit treatment center in Marlboro, where he spent six months in rehab before becoming a motivational speaker. He gave a speech on May 22 in Toms River for Hope Sheds Light, a prevention group headquartered in Ocean County, NJ. According to Dory Rachel, vice president of business development at the Discovery Institute, utilizing Sorrentino as a volunteer advocate wasn’t an easy decision. “It was a difficult decision,” she said. “I didn’t want to become connected with him,” Rachel, who has been clean for 33 years, explained. In the words of one celebrity, “celebrities are entitled and ego-driven, and the message from them is typically a disaster.” But, she explained, Sorrentino is able to connect with individuals who are in the midst of rehabilitation because he has “walked that walk.” According to her, it’s tough for those who are addicted to opioids to “get a handle on the fact that you may be completely free of narcotics.” “Mike worked in the intestines of the monster. They became famous as a result of their excessive drinking, but he no longer indulges in such behavior.” Despite the earlier emphasis on his sobriety, Sorrentino admitted that he was still concerned about how being a sober cast member on “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” would fare on a program when the majority of the cast members were party animals. ‘I was concerned,’ he said, “but every single week I sit back and occasionally get a little emotional,” he added. The same way I approached my recuperation, I simply took things one day at a time, and everything worked out. As a result of my previous position, I am now responsible for watching out for my pals. Now I’m providing them with sound advise. “Right now, I’m simply assisting.” Sorrentino is content with his second act, which includes not just his MTV program but also his efforts to combat the opioid crisis through his personal Instagram account. With the new show already slated to return for a second season, Sorrentino is confident in his second act. “You know, you have to humble yourself,” Sorrentino stated in an interview. In the end, after doing so, and having educated myself, being more self-aware of my activities, as well as accountable and responsible, I began to see results. He advised persons suffering from addiction to get help as soon as possible “You must come to grips with the notion that there is a better life out there for you if you are willing to look for it. If you take things one day at a time, the storm will subside.” Ken Serrano can be reached at 732-643-4029 or [email protected]

Young adults’ bad living patterns are perpetuated by reality television, which encourages them to believe that they are normal. Thanks to The Situation fromThe Jersey ShoreTV show, one reality star has opted to get treatment for prescription drug addiction and has entered a drug rehabilitation facility. When Mike Sorrentino (a.k.a. The Situation) was photographed in a drug rehab center, it was subsequently revealed that he had entered into treatment for addiction to relieve the tiredness he was experiencing as a result of his hectic schedule and his addiction to prescription opioids.
Throughout the course of the show’s run, we witnessed Sorrentino’s conduct become increasingly secluded, unpredictable, and less sociable, all of which are warning signs that something is wrong.
Similarly, unless a celebrity reaches rock bottom, checks into treatment, or dies, the public will continue to disregard the self-destructive conduct and damage that is being caused.
Hopefully, it will educate him to make better decisions in the future, which will lead to his behaving better in the present.
So many addicts believe that it is OK to return to their previous surroundings immediately after completing addiction treatment.
